Cooper's story
Cooper is a German Shepherd puppy who was only 3 months old when he ended up in a high kill shelter. He was allowed to be placed into a foster home within 24 hours. Cooper is a very smart puppy who is highly food motivated and will keep you on your toes. After only 3 weeks in his foster home, he is crate trained, kennel trained, and has not had one accident in the house. Cooper sleeps all night quietly in a crate. He has done well with obedience training, and knows sit and heel; however, he would benefit from a new family who can continue to work with him on the commands of down, wait, stay, look, leave it, and here.He is a rough and tumble player who loves to play with the big dogs. He is pretty fearless. This young boy loves the water!! He will "eat" the water from the sprinklers, but has not destroyed any. He gets in and out of the pool by himself. He also likes to play in a kiddie pool. Cooper is a very curious puppy with a strong nose, but he has not been destructive. He will make a great training partner. He likes to be cradled in his foster mom's lap, laying on his back. Because of his drive for food and the little sharp puppy teeth, he needs more work on taking his treats gently and may need to be put on a slow feeder bowl. Potential adopters must have prior experience in raising a puppy to be considered.
